It is a neighborhood with a rich history and a checkered past.<\/p>\n<p>The neighborhood is going through significant changes. There are new businesses and lots of activity. Woodlawn Park is full of people playing soccer and families at the playground and activities like movies in the park and Star Trek in the Park. It is a cool place.<\/p>\n<p>The businesses that have grown over the last five years are <a href=\"www.firehousepdx.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Firehouse<\/a>, <a href=\"goodneighborpizzeria.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Good Neighbor Pizzeria<\/a>, <a href=\"www.breaksidebrews.com\/\">Breakside Brewery<\/a>, and <a href=\"www.woodlawncoffee.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Woodlawn Coffee and Pastry<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I live in the Woodlawn neighborhood in NE Portland, OR.
